The 2024 Infiniti QX80 is elegant in appearance, and its large dimensions help it leave a lasting impression. Inside, it’s spacious, including three rows of chairs and seemingly endless luxurious surfaces. Though the interior is expertly put together, the basic design hasn’t altered much in more than ten years. Though the QX80 has a luxury logo and a high price tag, it shares many features with the more affordable Nissan Armada for tens of thousands of dollars. Even though it consumes a lot of gas, the 400-horsepower V-8 that powers each of them pushes them with authority.
No one will ever doubt the 2024 QX80’s status as luxurious, given its quiet interior and serene ride, but many will wonder if it can hold its own against more upscale competitors like the Range Rover, Cadillac Escalade, and BMW X7.
For the 2024 QX80, the availability of a Dark Chrome Appearance Package is the only noteworthy change. It accomplishes much of what the name implies, and Infiniti only provides it for the top-of-the-line Sensory trim. The side mirrors are black instead of chrome, while the grille surround, front fascia trim, fender vents, and rear gate trim are all darker chrome.

Like most other competitors, the 400-hp 5.6-liter V-8 engine is devoid of hybrid or turbo technology. The QX80 boasts a smooth and comfortable ride, partly due to its weight of around one city block, and the 7-speed automatic transmission does an excellent job of keeping the V-8 engine within its power band. Even though the QX80 can only manage 15 mpg when paired with four-wheel drive, it can still pull an 8,500-pound trailer.
This large SUV sways over curves like the yacht that it is. Nevertheless, the hydraulic body control system of the Sensory trim level manages things rather effectively. Sadly, it’s the most expensive version.
Rows one and two of the QX80’s cabin comfortably fit four or five people, while the third row is suitable for children. Although the cargo area is elevated above the ground, there is 50 cubic feet of room behind row two for cargo, or double that amount when the vehicle is in maximum hauler mode.
It received an upgrade a few years ago that included a respectable infotainment system that was mostly shared with the Nissan lineup. Both wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are helpful.
2024 Infiniti QX80: Performance and Engine
The 5.6-liter V8 engine of the 2024 Infiniti QX80 SUV is mated to a seven-speed automated transmission. With the exception of the Infiniti’s extra 10 horsepower, this combination is the same as the Nissan Armada. The Cadillac Escalade V8 has 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while the Lincoln Navigator has 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The QX80 has a robust 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.
Still, the QX80’s large V8 engine runs smoothly, and its seven-speed automatic transmission is a well-oiled machine. The SUV accelerates quickly off the line, but the touchy accelerator pedal overstates the sensation of force. Higher speeds when you punch the accelerator produce a pleasing V8 snarl.
The QX80 can tow an impressive 8,500 pounds when equipped with either rear- or four-wheel drive. That is comparable to the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade, and it goes beyond a Mercedes-Benz GLS. However, a Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a 9,850-pound maximum towing capacity. Additionally, the QX80 is devoid of some of the newest amenities, such as autonomous steering when backing up with a trailer or a camera that can zoom in on the hitch.
While adaptive cruise control is included as standard equipment on the Infiniti, it is not equipped with lane-centering functionality or a hands-free highway driving assistance option like Cadillac’s Super Cruise. The QX80 lacks automated parking assistance, a feature that several competitors have. However, a surround-view camera is included on all QX80 trims, which is a need in this class.
2024 Infiniti QX80: Fuel Efficiency

Nonetheless, a slick multimedia system with contemporary features like wireless Apple CarPlay (AAPL) crowns the newly updated center stack.
The QX80 is the largest SUV in the Infiniti series, but even so, we thought the third row was a little cramped. It is preferable to reserve these seats for children. Third-row legroom in the QX80 is only 28.8 inches, significantly less than that of the Escalade (34.9 inches) and Navigator (40.9 inches).

Control of Body Movement: Infiniti offers Body Motion Control as standard equipment on the highest Sensory trim level. The hydraulic system’s uniform distribution of pressure results in a more stable ride with less body roll.
Continuum SuperiorCare: Infiniti Premium Care is a comprehensive maintenance contract that is in all 2024 Infiniti cars. For three years, these included inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, brake fluid changes, and cabin air filter replacements.
Bose sound equipment: There is a Bose audio system in every QX80. The Bose Performance Series 17-speaker system with the Sensory trim is our favorite; the regular system has 13 speakers.
Styling
The 2024 Infiniti Qx80 makes a bold impression, which will appeal to buyers looking for a large, powerful SUV. The two higher levels have large 22-inch wheels, although even the most affordable variant has 20-inch wheels. Unless you want to use the new Dark Chrome bundle, Chrome is available everywhere. (In addition, there is an abundance of Dark Chrome available.)
This SUV has strangely cozy Rubenesque curves all around it. They harken back to a time before hybridization was for little hatchbacks. The QX80 continues to be a popular choice at a country club bar despite the changing world.
Although the large touchscreen interface was introduced a few years ago to meet modern standards, the interior design is even more retro. Everywhere you look, you’ll find plush surfaces, leather, and wood, and when you open the QX80’s massive doors, you’ll smell something classy. Quilted leather and open-pore wood cost more and require up to the Sensory trim level, but even the standard Luxe is plenty elegant.
Comfort
A spacious and well-appointed cabin characterizes the 2024 Infiniti QX80. TCC rates it 9 out of 10 for its spacious load space, comfortable front and second-row seats, and luxurious feel that is reasonably priced.
The front chairs have excellent power adjustability and are supple and luxurious. After making the ascent, rear-seat passengers will have plenty of space. The QX80 doesn’t have a height-adjustable air suspension and sits very high off the ground. A sizable center console divides the second-row captain’s chairs, creating a suitably opulent atmosphere. Teenagers can comfortably fit with the approximately 29 inches of legroom that row three offers.
16.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity may be found behind row three. Cargo capacity rises to 50 cubic feet with row three tucked away, and with the second row down, it nearly doubles.
Robust construction, plush leather, and an abundance of wood accents give the QX80 an elegant, vintage vibe akin to that of an inexpensive Range Rover. Although it’s not new and contemporary, it does have an expensive feel about it.
