“Shark ion robot” Robotic vacuums and mopping systems should be at the top of your list if you’re looking for technology that simplifies your life. And you’d be surprised at how many more economical solutions there are.
I’ve been evaluating the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 for the past few weeks. Due to its age, the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 is a name-brand product that is also affordable. However, despite having adequate suction power and cleaning capabilities, there are certain cons that may or may not be deal-breakers for you.

Pros:

- Sometimes fails to return to the docking station
- Notifies the user when it is filled
Performance:
The obvious shortcoming: the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 lacks any kind of mapping functionality, which means it cannot keep note of what and where it has previously cleaned. Even when you gave the Shark access to your whole open-concept living room, kitchen, and dining room, there were times when it would focus its cleaning efforts on just one spot before calling it a day. Knowing this, run the robot continuously every day to achieve the best cleaning possible. The Shark is probably not for you if you have an open-concept home and don’t intend to use the robot every day.
On the other hand, you could simply place the vacuum in any door-containing room, shut the door, and leave the area for 10 minutes to find totally clean floors.
Suction Strength
This robot makes up for its lack of mapping technology with the strength of its suction on rugs, laminate, and tiles. You can test the vacuum’s suction force on bits of dog food, blades of grass, kitty litter, and some crumbled potato chips, in addition to running it every day in a home with two dogs and a cat. When cleaning, it worked quickly and sucked up anything in its path.
In addition to those particular tests, your floors look fantastic after vacuuming. It was so effective in cleaning the floors that you don’t have to worry about any dust or dirt being left behind when you can immediately follow it up with a mop.
The Shark ION AV751 did a good job cleaning the top surface of my carpet; however, it struggled a bit more with the bits underneath. Ultimately, you had to use your ordinary vacuum in your bedrooms since it was more effective at getting rid of the dog and cat hair embedded in the carpet.
The Shark isn’t advertised as a pet-friendly vacuum, to be fair. For fuzzy pets, pet owners like the AV993 IQ robot vacuum.
Mobility
The Shark ION AV751 didn’t have any issues going between different floors. It is strong and determined enough to drive right up onto my carpet. Once again, the absence of mapping is to blame.
Although the vacuum usually manages to escape challenging circumstances, corner vents can be a robot death trap. If you don’t have floor vents in your house, this shouldn’t be a problem.
The size of the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 is comparable to other robot vacuums I’ve tested, and it moves around my home with ease. It conveniently fits beneath your mattresses, couches, end tables, and dining room tables and effectively removes a lot of the dust and debris that you frequently overlook.
Ledges and Stairs
The cliff sensors that this vacuum employs to detect and avoid stairs and cliffs were one element that really caught me off guard. It would always walk straight to the ledge when it got close to the steps before turning around. The technology in this place is excellent.
Connectivity
The AV751 is compatible with the SharkClean app, Alexa, and Google Assistant, like other Shark robot vacuums. The software is easy to navigate and utilize. Your robot’s control panel allows you to start and stop it as well as set up cleaning schedules.
The app and robot effortlessly sync when scheduling; the vacuum always starts on schedule and at the right time. Just be sure to do so after charging and plugging it in. The vacuum would frequently be pre-programmed to run, so you didn’t always have to tell it to start a cleaning task.
Finding its way back to the docking station after a cleaning cycle is over is another issue the Shark ION AV751 has. When it had completed its task and was too far from the dock, it would drive about aimlessly trying to find the docking station, but it was rarely successful. However, you had to go find the vacuum more often than not, stop it, and station it by yourself.
This is not particularly inconvenient, but it is. However, there’s a considerable probability that the vacuum would run out of battery while attempting to find the docking station if you scheduled it to operate while you were at work.
You would come back to a lost, lifeless robot vacuum.
In conclusion
You will enjoy the Shark ION AV751 for $229 because of its suction power and ease of movement throughout my home. It doesn’t make a lot of noise, easily fits under furniture, and can run for up to two hours on a single charge. The inability to return to its docking station and the lack of mapping capabilities are two noteworthy limitations. But given the cost, the concessions might be worthwhile.
